HERITAGE & EDUCATION

The Heritage & Education Module will draw on the experience of the Museum of Free Derry as a place where historical events are remembered and a where a community tells its story.

Participants undertaking this module will visit the Museum of Free Derry and Siege Museums.  They will learn about the history of each Museum and how the Museum of Free Derry became the first accredited museum to have a specific conflict transformation focus based around the recent conflict.

Module activities will include the creation and location of mobile and temporary exhibitions, the use of artifacts and publications and on hosting events based around divisive aspects of our history.

​

There will also be focus on the 50th Anniversary Commemorations which began in 2018, with a focus on key events that took place during 1968.
